New Delhi: In a bizarre turn of events, Netizens have accused President of India, Ram Nath Kovind of unveiling a ‘portrait of actor Prosenjit Chatterjee as Subhas Chandra Bose’ whose 125th birth anniversary was commemorated at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Actor Prosenjit played Netaji in a Bengali film titled ‘Gumnaami’ directed by Srijit Mukherjee in 2019 that dealt with Bose’s mysterious death.

The President’s official Twitter handle also posted images from the function. On 23 January to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Subhas Chandra Bose, the President of India was scheduled to unveil a portrait of Bose at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Soon after the photo of Kovind unveiling the actor’s portrait as Bose was tweeted from the official account of President of India, netizens criticized the President and carelessness of authorities for the blunder.
From terming it ‘unbelievably hilarious’ to saying ‘writing satire is impossible in this country’, Twitterati have said it all.
Mahua Moitra, a Member of Parliament from Trinamool Congress MP also tweeted a message saying, “God Save India (because this government certainly can’t)” in reaction to the incident.

Meanwhile, despite the backlash, there has been no response from the authorities over it neither has the official Twitter of Indian President reacted yet.
